On Our Way
So excited to see what God will reveal to us in Burkina Faso. I so much want to be open for whatever is in store for us. I think it's about more than water, but yet that's where I have felt his Spirit leading me. Ready to take off momentarily, so no more Internet for awhile.
Thanks for following and being a part of this amazing journey

Tomorrow's the Day
We are off at around 11am tomorrow heading to Chicago! Just finished the last of the packing. We got word this afternoon that we are going to have a longer layover in Paris, so it looks like we'll have to find something to do in Paris for a few hours. Should have time to run out and see the Eiffel Tower at least. One more thing off the bucket list!
I have a suitcase full of diapers and we're also taking some pillowcase dresses. Hoping everything is packed.
Please pray for safe travel and thanks for following me on this journey

A great day of worship today but I still have much to do to get ready for Africa. The church prayed for us today and laid hands on us and annointed us in preparation for our trip. It's always a humbling experience when your church prays for you. Blessed to be a part of Northwest UMC, lots of love going around today.
We are taking 190# of "hot shots" with us to distribute to the local pastors in the villages that we are visiting. These "hot shots" (cattle prods) are used to treat venomous snake bites. Evidently, we are not sure how it works, but it does. It also helps build trust with the local pastors in the villages.
We have loaded up on all kinds of things to take with us for our hosts. We have hundreds of pillow case dresses, peanut butter, hard candy, diapers, rubber pants, sewing needles, thread, flavored cream, coffee, coffee makers, a used lap top, syrup, and oh so many other items to bring a little bit of "home" to our hosts.
Please continue to pray for our team and what God will accomplish through us in Burkina Faso. Pray for our safety and the God will reveal wondrous things to us as we are faithful to our call to go to Burkina Faso.
Thank you for following along with me on my latest journey.

More about Africa
I will be spending 10 days in Burkina Faso. Northwest UMC is one of 9 Indiana United Methodist churches that are working with Engage Burkina as we seek to provide clean drinking water to Burkinabe. Burkina Faso is located in north west Africa between Mali and the Ivory Coast. 85% of the Burkinabe do not have access to clean drinking water. Our 9 churches have raised over $72k to help dig wells through Burkina Faso.
As our group spends time in Burkina Faso we will seek to:
1. To encourage our partners doing this work.
As our group spends time in Burkina Faso we will seek to:
1. To encourage our partners doing this work.
2. To see the depth of need
3. To consider what God sees in that need and how we can continue to be
involved in God's work
4. To come back with deeper perspective; to share the vision and
inspiration to others
5. To energize our world outlook to do more for a world in need
6. To participate in friendship, encouragement, and helpfulness
7. To realize the connectedness God's people must have with all
people
8. A thousand other reasons that God will show us along the way.....
I covet your prayers for safe travel and that by our visit we will be able to show the love of Jesus Christ.
Getting Ready for Africa
Welcome to my new Blog. I've been wanting to start a blog for awhile so I'm excited to begin. Many of you know that I will be going to Africa soon and I want to be able to record my thoughts and what I'll be doing while I'm there. Not sure how good or how often we will have access to the internet while we are there, so check back often.
I hope that many of you will be in prayer for me and our team as we begin this great adventure.
